Indu D Meshri (July 16th 1944 - May 16th 2005)
MESHRI ---- Dr. (Mrs.) Indu Dayal, age 60, died at home Monday May16th in her sleep. She was a Research Associate and Manager at Amoco Production Company. She earned her PhD. Degree from the University of Tulsa in geochemistry, (1981). After 22 years of service, she retired from Amoco in 1996. She was awarded the prestigious American Association of Petroleum Geologists Distinguished Lecturer Award in 1992-93. She was author and coauthor of several technical papers and patents. She has written and audited several technical books. She attended and chaired the international conferences. She was chairman of the fund raising committee at the University of Tulsa and helped the girl scouts group. She has participated in the community activities, teaching science courses, and promoted scientific education and motivated young women to be interested in technical subjects. She traveled extensively to Europe and Russia and presented technical papers. She was also a great Artist, Musician, and Painter. She also was a founder of the Hindu Temple of Tulsa.
Her proudest accomplishments were that she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend of so many. She married Dr. Dayal Tanumal Meshri on June 20th, 1966 in Moscow, Idaho. Dr. Indu Meshri was preceded in death by her parents Arjandas and Pushpa Chainani. Her husband, Dr. Dayal Meshri, survives her, son Sanjay D. Meshri, his wife Julie, daughter Dr. Gita D. Meshri, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by son-in-law to be Dr. Michael Raisinghani, of Dallas, Texas and her beloved brother Ashok A. Chainani, his wife Maya, son Avinash and daughter Anjali of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, her brother-in-law, Gagan T. Jairamani, his wife Veena, and sons Jagat, Ajeet, and Vikram of Tulsa, and her three beautiful granddaughters Madeline Asha, Bella Grace, and Daya Faith Meshri.
Indu was the light of our life and she will remain forever in all our heart as a kind, hardworking, dedicated scientist, mother, wife and social worker.
